The SBI Circle Based Officer (CBO) exam is conducted by the State Bank of India (SBI) to recruit candidates for the position of Circle Based Officer. SBI Circle Based Officer Eligibility Criteria 2026

1) SBI CBO Age Limit- The age limit for the SBI Circle Based Officer (CBO) 2026 exam is as follows:

• The minimum age limit is 21 years.
• The maximum age limit is 30 years as on 31.12.2025 i.e. candidates must have been born not later than 31.12.2004 and not earlier than 01.01.1996 (both days inclusive).

There is also age relaxation for candidates belonging to certain categories. The SBI CBO age relaxation for various categories is mentioned below:

• Scheduled Castes (SC): 5 years
• Scheduled Tribes (ST): 5 years
• Other Backward Classes (OBC) - Non-creamy layer: 3 years
• Person with Disability (PWD) (SC/ST): 15 years
• Person with Disability (PWD) (OBC): 13 years
• Person with Disability (PWD) (General/EWS): 10 years
• Eligible - Ex Servicemen, Commissioned officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within 6 months from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalided : 5 years

2) SBI CBO Educational Qualification – The educational qualification for the SBI Circle Based Officer (CBO) 2026 exam is as follows:

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government including Integrated Dual Degree (IDD). Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant would also be eligible.

3) SBI CBO Work Experience (Post Essential Academic Qualification) –

The SBI Circle Based Officer (SBI CBO) 2026 exam requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years' experience as an officer in any Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank. The work experience should be as of December 31, 2025.

4) SBI CBO Local Language-

• Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language of the applied circle as one of the subjects will not be required to undergo the language test
• Candidates seeking for vacancies in a certain Circle must be skilled (reading, writing, and understanding) in any of the specified local languages of that Circle (listed against each Circle) in order to be selected at the time of application registration.
