Simple, practical guidance to help you support your child's studies - even on the days when you don't understand the homework. Plus a quick look at the Parent App that shows you how they're really doing.
Three things that actually help
AT HOME
Make home a calm place to study
Children learn better when they feel relaxed - not when they're being pushed every evening. A simple, predictable routine helps more than long study hours. Fix one quiet spot for homework, keep the phone away during that time, and let your child take short breaks between subjects. Calm parents make calm children, and calm children learn better.
A calm child learns more in one hour than a stressed child does in three.
WHEN HOMEWORK IS TRICKY
You don't need to know the maths to help
You don't need to remember Class 10 algebra or what RNA is. Just do three small things. Every evening, ask your child what they learned today - and make them explain it back to you. Once a week, open the Parent App and check the colours: green is fine, yellow needs attention, red needs help. When something turns red, message the teacher. That's it - and it works.
WEEKLY CHECK-INS
Small weekly check-ins beat one big report card
By the time the year-end report card arrives, it's often too late to fix anything - small problems have already become big ones. The Parent App shows you how your child is doing every week, chapter by chapter, not just at exam time. Ask about specific topics ("How is fractions going?") instead of "How are studies?". Small, frequent conversations catch problems early and keep things calm at home.
Is your child's school on ETL?
If yes - ask your school for your Parent App login. If your child's school isn't on ETL yet, share this page with them, or have them book a demo here.
