NIMCET Exam Details Overview 2025

The NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by NITs for admission to their Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program. This exam is conducted once a year, typically in June, with the application process starting around March. The exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions based on subjects like Mathematics, Computer Awareness, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, and General English. Candidates are required to hold a graduation degree in relevant fields like BCA/B.Sc/BIT and meet specific eligibility criteria regarding marks and citizenship.

The result is valid for admission to the NITs of Agartala, Allahabad, Jamshedpur, Bhopal, Calicut, Kurukshetra, Patna, Surathkal, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), and Warangal. Every year, over 50,000 students apply for the NIMCET exam, with 1285 seats available in 13 NITs across India.

NIMCET Scheme of Test Pattern 2025

The NIMCET-2025 test will consist of only one question paper with 120 multiple-choice questions covering the following areas. Multiple-choice questions will be written in English alone and will not be translated into any other language.

How to Apply for NIMCET 2025

To apply for NIMCET 2025, follow these steps:

1. Registration:
• Visit the official NIMCET website and click on the registration link.
• Enter your name, personal email ID, and mobile number to create a password and set security questions.
• Verify your email by clicking on the link sent to your email.

2. Filling the Application Form:
• Fill in all required details like personal information, academic details, and preferred exam centers.
• Upload scanned documents of your signature, photograph, and other necessary certificates.

3. Payment of Application Fee:
• Pay the application fee online using credit/debit card or net banking.
• The application fee is INR 2500 for General/EWS/OBC category and INR 1250 for SC/ST category candidates.

4. Application Submission:
• After completing the payment, a unique application number will be generated.
• Take a printout of the filled application form for future reference.

NIMCET Application Fee 2025

The NIMCET 2025 application fee is as follows:

• General/EWS/OBC category: INR 2,500
• SC/ST/PWD category: INR 1,250

The non-refundable Application Processing Fee for the NIMCET-2025 exam and counselling for admission to the MCA programme.

NIMCET Exam Centers 2025

The NIMCET 2025 exam will be conducted in a total of 30 cities across the country. Candidates are required to select their preferred exam centers while filling out the application form.
